One-Hundred Songs

w00t! Ding! Hooray! It’s been one-hundred days since I began posting a new song video every day on Facebook and YouTube, and it’s been a wonderful experience so far. It’s interesting to see the results of so much “practice-time” every day. I thought I was getting a lot just from performing several times a week, but this is RIDICULOUS! Kids, don’t let anyone tell you practice doesn’t pay off 😛

Anyway, I thought I would record a special one for number 100. It was tough holding off on this one for so long! Enjoy 🙂

A Depeche Mode Fan

One of the most enjoyable concerts I have ever attended was seeing Depeche Mode at The Woodlands in Texas back in 2001 on their Exciter Tour. It was an amazing show, with the band positioned in front of a giant high definition video screen (which they gradually made more and more impressive use of as the night progressed). One song from their Exciter album won me over big time. I still think it’s one of the most beautiful songs I know – perfect in its simplicity. Here’s my take on it…

Ah, what a tune! Here’s another DM song for ya (maybe a bit more recognizable!).

Thanks for taking that trip with me down Depeche Mode Boulevard! Are you a fan, too? What’s your faorite DM tune?

I’m Going Back Home

Later this month, Francie and I are going to head down to the Mississippi Gulf Coast for my [gulp] twentieth high school reunion! It’ll be a fun drive down – we usually do the 1,015-mile trip in one go, although we’ve never tried bringing the cat in a sedan before (she usually just finds a quiet place to curl up and sleep anyways). Even though it’s going to be in the absolute dead heat of summer, I couldn’t be more excited to go home and reconnect with everyone from Long Beach High. Here’s to heading back home…
